Sunshine to warm you and dance on your hair,

Child of Mine, -- are you listening there?

Raindrops to bless you and wash the earth,

As I washed your soul at your second birth.

 

 

Moonbeams to tickle your cheek at night,

My hand to guide you when you take fright,

Wind that can whisper, wind that can roar,

Like my Holy Spirit, when you know Me more.

 

 

 

 

Rainbows that arch like a bridge through the sky,

Sign of the promise between you and I;

Green grass underfoot and blue sky above,

These are all samples of My endless love.

 

 

Friends who will listen and show you they care,

As together your thoughts about Me you can share;

Neighbours without Me, who need you to tell,

Of the difference it makes when within you I dwell.

 

 

Children who live in the streets unaware

Of a Father in heaven who would reach out in care;

Folk who are lonely and head for a bar,

Not knowing that God’s love’s not nearly so far.

 

 

Addicts who’ll sniff dope or swallow a pill,

Searching for something to give them a thrill;

The lost and the lonely and those who don’t know;

Are all ones to whom, My love you must show.

 

Love that is waiting for each one to claim.

Whether they do or they don’t know My name.

Love that is there from beginning to end,

Waiting for all to know Christ as their friend.

 

 

For Christ is the Saviour for one and for all,

And He’s also a brother, for each who would call

Me Abba, Father, as well as their Lord;

And know in their hearts, of My love they’re assured.
