My feet stumble on the mountain path,
Yet will I lift my eyes and see Your face,
I trip, I falter, I fail and fall yet again, But always as I tumble, I fall into Your Grace.
You have a patience beyond my understanding, A love beyond any I have ever known, I claw my way through life and all its sorrows,
But You have walked beside me as I’ve grown.
Your hand reached out to catch me as I stumbled,
Yet often I’d no knowing You were there,
The nights I cried so lost, alone and empty,
You whispered to me gently, that You care.
You hear the cries from those whom You created,
The torment of the souls who feel alone,
Your Spirit speaks to any who will listen,
”God’s love for you, He has already shown.
Your path He walked, on earth, as man among you,
Your thirsts, and hopes and hurts He also knew;
He suffered doubts, and loss and pain and sadness,
He bore these things, so He’d relate to you.
He took your sins upon His worn shoulders, Your sickness in the cuts upon His back,
God poured out life and love and riches, That never in good things you’d need to lack.
He did not stint in pouring out His loving,
He did not call the angels to His aid,
God sent His Son to suffer all you’d cost Him,
And bade Him see it through, though sore afraid.”
How can we grasp the concept of such loving,
God’s only Son, His Father’s greatest treasure,
Lays down His life for us, to show, God’s love,
God’s love for us; a love beyond all measure.
