MY BLESSING

I am blessed of the Lord,

He holds me in the comfort of His hand,

He sends me soaring like the eagle,

He showers me with His love.

He provides for me in ways I do not understand;

My Jehovah Jirah; my tender lover,

He ministers to my spirit and my soul,

And leads me, wondering, through the high places.

Though my times of doubt embarrass me;

My failings loom like chasms before me,

He takes my hand and we cross them,

As though they were not there.

He looks at me with eyes that blaze with love,

And kindles a responding fire within;

This burning passion that consumes the dross,

Yet wraps me in the safety of its warmth.

He holds no record of the sins I have committed,

No tally of the works I’ve left undone;

He grieves that I can quickly ask His pardon,

Yet still condemn myself as if it were not given.

But tenderly He teaches me of His love,

A mighty power that overrides all else,

The gentlest, strongest, force throughout the universe,

The essence of Almighty God Himself.

I am blessed of the Lord,

He pours out this love into my very being,

Inhabits this shell with His precious Spirit,

And weds my spirit to His own – for all eternity.

He is my King, and I His subject;

He my Father, I His child;

His the Lordship, mine the serving,

Yet as His bride, my God and I are one.
