When I took my computer name, I chose it because I saw Jesus as the Lion of Judah, and myself as one of His lambs. This poem was written as a response to this name, I guess.

Lion’s Lamb
I am but a lamb of the Lion,
A sheep of His pasture am I,
Any yet this great Lion of Judah,
Commands me, "Fear not, lamb, to try."
He bids me step out in His power,
Declare to the world, ‘He is King!’,
He tells me it gives Him great pleasure,
When people His praises will sing.
It pleases Him not when we cower,
Afraid to step into His Light,
He says, "I have given you power,
To stand in My strength and My might."
For His Holy Spirit is in us,
Declaring and praising our Lord,
And if we but give Him dominion,
He will help us to live by God’s Word.
For a lamb is controlled by the Shepherd,
Protected and nurtured you see,
If she stays within His guiding boundaries,
It is safe to be joyous and free.
For the Lion is also our Shepherd,
Who would keep us from evil and harm,
His rod and His staff are our comfort,
He holds us by His righteous arm.
Though our Lion is awe-full and fearful,
It’s a reverent fear, - not a dread,
For we are the church and His people,
And Jesus, our Lion, it’s Head.
And although His power is mighty,
Although His majesty great,
He’s already called us His children,
We can come to His Presence, not wait.
For a child should not fear its own Father,
And a shepherd is known to his sheep,
And this mighty Lion – our Shepherd,
Will each of His lambs, safely keep.
So come to this Lion of Judah,
With reverence, honour and care,
But come to Him also with loving,
For our Father’s love waits for us there.
