Hark, hark, the dogs do bark, The rain is in the air; The parrots swoop, the rooks caw loud, And ants swarm everywhere. The whole of nature readies, For a cleansing, fresh downpour, The flowers lift their thirsty heads, As if to search for more. And are we too, this open, When the Spirit’s rain falls down, Do we welcome Him with open hearts, Lay bare our thirsty ground? Or do we huddle warily, Close ranks, and cower low, Resist His fresh outpouring, Till we know where He would go? We like to have a warning, Some time we can prepare, Before we let Him lead us; We want to know, “What’s there? What will You set before me? What would You have me do? There’s just so many questions, I’d like to ask of You.” But You have bid us trust You, Just follow where You lead, Lay bare our hearts before You, And let You grow Your seed. You’ve seeded us with Words of Truth, Of hope and faith and love, You’ll water us with Your own tears, Like fresh rain from above. And if we let You soak us,With all You have to give, Our lives will blossom beautifully, We’ll live how You would live. So let us be Your garden, Where we can walk and share, Our focus always turned to You; For Your rain, is in the air. © 22/9/06
Hark, hark, the dogs do bark, The rain is in the air; The parrots swoop, the rooks caw loud, And ants swarm everywhere.
The whole of nature readies, For a cleansing, fresh downpour, The flowers lift their thirsty heads, As if to search for more.

We like to have a warning, Some time we can prepare, Before we let Him lead us; We want to know, “What’s there?
