The touch of His hand, and we’re healed, The sentence of sickness repealed, A glimpse of His love, and we know; That all fear and all doubt has to go. His power is greater by far, Than the things that we were or we are, But His death will not save us alone, With our mouths, that He’s Lord, we must own. He says we must claim Him as Lord, Believe in our hearts on His Word, Confess with our mouths, He did save, For us, on the Cross, His life gave. He took all the sorrow and pain, He bore it that New Life we’d gain, But we cause it to be of no worth; If we will not confess Him on earth. We’re made not like robot nor clone, He gave each a will of our own, To choose to reject or accept; That our spirit in Him will be kept. We must choose to accept Him as King, And allow Him to rule everything, For we know that if He rules within, We can overcome satan and sin. It’s His Word that will cover our heart, As in Him we attempt a new start, And so on His Word we step out, Allow Him to deal with our doubt. For His Word and His Love are our right, Though satan may boast at his might, But the price has already been paid, When our sins upon Jesus were laid. The work it is already done, Our debt paid by Jesus, God’s Son, And all that He asks us to do, Is confess that we know this is true. So claim this great gift God has given, Claim the love, which for so long you’ve striven, For clearly God gives us our part, Just simply, ask Christ to our heart. And He’ll stand at that door and He’ll knock, Till He knows that we’ve dared it unlock, Though the opening may only be thin, It’s enough we’ve invited Him in. For He’ll enter our hearts like a flood, And our lives will be cleansed by His Blood, And His Spirit He’ll give us to teach, That new levels in Him we will reach. It’s so simple the words you need say, "I choose Jesus as Lord from this day; I ask that my sins, He’ll forgive; That forever in my heart, He’ll live." And He never will turn one away, Who a prayer of this nature, will pray; So don’t wait any longer to start, Step out and do your simple part. And a peace that you’ve not known before, Will enter, and your heart assure, For whenever, wherever, you’d roam, Your God has been calling you home. © Oct. – Nov. 2001
