God’s after a champion, one who will stand,
For His truth, and His Way, and His Word;
His eyes they are roaming all over the land,
To see who is wielding His sword.
God’s way of judging is different from man,
We judge what we outwardly see,
God looks at our hearts, as only He can,
And of prejudice, He is quite free.
God doesn’t choose by our strength nor our height,
By our boldness or courage to speak;
For He has the power, the words and the might,
To give to the timid and meek.
The measure He uses is one of His own,
For His ways are higher by far,
And each man, by God, completely is known,
All his strengths and the faults that him mar.
It isn’t the size of the body without,
But the strength of His Spirit within,
It isn’t the volume with which we can shout,
But the courage to hand Him our sin.
God doesn’t look for the one who’s equipped,
Whose training’s already complete;
For He can take those who have stumbled and slipped,
And set a new path for their feet.
God takes the heart which is turned to His ways,
The spirit that’s humble and true;
He isn’t so moved by the words that you say,
As the thoughts that go on, inside you.
If we give Him the freedom to move in our life,
Set our minds and our hearts to His will,
Live in peace, avoid anger and turmoil and strife,
Come into His Presence; be still,
Then we open the way for His Spirit to lead,
To teach and to train us to be;
The kind of a Christian that God’s going to need,
If a world, full of champions,He’d see.
