Remember the simple teddy bear? Will you be a teddy bear for God, Will you love each person freely, No matter where they’ve trod? A teddy bear is cuddly, Not sharp or harsh or cross, A teddy bear is gentle, Not pushing to be ‘boss’. A teddy loves whoever Will take it to their heart, It doesn’t ask they ‘get it right’, Before its love will start. God wants us to be gentle, To reach out with His love, To show to all through our lives, The Father who’s above. A teddy’s non-judgemental, To any who would come; Like teddy, -- please remember: - God’s love’s not just ‘for some’. So let us love like teddies, As far as teddies can; But even more, we need to love As did the Son of Man. So we can be God’s teddies, And let His love shine through, Not only in the things we say: - In all the things we do! © 29-30/4/02
Remember the simple teddy bear?
Will you be a teddy bear for God,
Will you love each person freely,
No matter where they’ve trod?
A teddy bear is cuddly,
Not sharp or harsh or cross,
A teddy bear is gentle,
Not pushing to be ‘boss’.
A teddy loves whoever
Will take it to their heart,
It doesn’t ask they ‘get it right’,
Before its love will start.
God wants us to be gentle,
To reach out with His love,
To show to all through our lives,
The Father who’s above.
A teddy’s non-judgemental,
To any who would come;
Like teddy, -- please remember: -
God’s love’s not just ‘for some’.
So let us love like teddies,
As far as teddies can;
But even more, we need to love
As did the Son of Man.
So we can be God’s teddies,
And let His love shine through,
Not only in the things we say: -
In all the things we do!
