BEACH WALK
Like a gull with no feet, I stumble along; Shrinking away from the fit and the strong, Neglecting to use my God given wings, Not looking to Him, just looking at things. From the beauty of shells that lie dead on the beach, To the beauty of God, who seems so out of reach; As the waves lap the shoreline, relentless and free, So God is relentless in reaching to me. He’s there in the dolphins that leap in the sea, He’s there in the young girls who share them with me; He’s here in my heart if I just let Him talk, If I give Him the chance, then beside me He’ll walk. As the sky and the sea seem to blend into one, So the Lord has been there since before time begun; He was and He is and He always will be, And if I allow it, He’ll dwell within me. The beach is a place where our God can be seen, In the blue of the sky, or a sea tinged with green; Like the infinite grains of sand on the shore, Though we know ‘some’ of God, we can always learn more. © 12/5/98
Like a gull with no feet, I stumble along;
Shrinking away from the fit and the strong,
Neglecting to use my God given wings,
Not looking to Him, just looking at things.
From the beauty of shells that lie dead on the beach,
To the beauty of God, who seems so out of reach;
As the waves lap the shoreline, relentless and free,
So God is relentless in reaching to me.
He’s there in the dolphins that leap in the sea,
He’s there in the young girls who share them with me;
He’s here in my heart if I just let Him talk,
If I give Him the chance, then beside me He’ll walk.
As the sky and the sea seem to blend into one,
So the Lord has been there since before time begun;

And if I allow it, He’ll dwell within me.
The beach is a place where our God can be seen,
In the blue of the sky, or a sea tinged with green;
Like the infinite grains of sand on the shore,
Though we know ‘some’ of God, we can always learn more.
