Living Water
Rivers of Living Water, Flow from the heart of His throne; Bringing the Lord’s refreshing, Claiming all for His own. Come now, and bathe in this River, Come now, and swim in its flow, You will step deep in its water, The more of your Saviour you know. He is the Living Water, The truth and the life and the way, He left His Spirit to help us, Walk with Him, surely, each day. Now with Him living within us, His Living Water, we bring, Pouring it out to our nation, Causing her people to sing. Sing to the Lord such a new song, Carol of gladness and joy, That all the world will be turning, Seeking the Source of our joy. Then can we pour forth His blessing, Share out His truth and His Love, Show that a river of healing, Flows from our Father above. Healing from all the world’s sickness, From famine, and hatred and war, He took all this on His shoulders, Bore it, and, oh, so much more. He was before the beginning, Poured out from the Father’s pure heart, Saved to pour out His own lifeblood, To give to the world, a new start. Now as the world grows more weary, Sinks itself deeper in sin, Now is the time for revival, We need a refreshing from Him. Firstly we come to Christ’s river, To wash in the Blood He poured out, Letting Him cleanse and forgive us, Purge us from fear and from doubt. Then as we rise with rejoicing, Our eyes this new River will see, Bubbling with life and with power, This river is flowing from Thee. Lord our small cup now we offer, Like the woman who drank from the well, Just as You showed her life to her, You, all of our lives, could us tell. Give to us now, Your pure water, Pour it, now, into our soul. Let us wash, let us swim in Your River, Till our hearts, minds, and bodies are whole. And Lord, let Your own, Living Waters, Flow out from us to the world, Until over all Your creation, Your banner of love, flies unfurled. Then will the world be abundant, Creation will then be made whole, For Your kingdom’s not of the natural, It flourishes deep in our soul. Let us not hinder its progress, Cause others to stumble and fall, But to Your Word, be wide open, Ready to take from You, all. Pour out Your River from in us, Use us to spread forth Your Word; Let us, oh let us, be faithful, To always, proclaim You as Lord. © 4/2/03
