Praises
Sun and sky and nature, all declare the King, Birds and wind and water, of His mercies sing. How can we deny it, that our God is Lord, Let us join and praise Him, all in one accord. Let us lift our voices, give a mighty shout, Telling all in earshot, what this life’s about. We must give Him glory, fill our mouths with praise, With our words and actions, we His banner raise. If we would be silent, not declare His worth, Then rocks would shout His praises, nestled in the earth. We were made to praise Him, glorify His Name, That we might more know Him, down to earth He came. As a humble baby, just as you or I, Left His home in heaven, far beyond the sky, Gave away His glory, came to earth as naught, Showed us by example, how to love God as we ought. Though He knew the Father, still He had to learn, Growing as a child grows, experience to earn, He must face temptation, know our every fear, Know what gives us sorrow, and what we hold dear. He showed us the Father, in a form that we could see, "If you’d see my Father, come now, look at Me." He taught us to honour, God in all we do, Promised we could trust Him, that His Words are true. Poured His Life out for us, nailed upon that tree, Counted it as nothing, to give for you and me. How can we not praise Him, for the gift He gave, He paid all that’s owing, so our souls, He’d save. Christ our own Redeemer, shed His Blood upon the ground, Scorned by His accusers, He made not a sound, Owned He had a Kingdom, at Pilate’s sad request, Trusted in His Father, for He knew that He knew best. By His Blood, redeemed mankind, Opened eyes that once were blind, Came to show us all the Way, Turned endless night to endless day. We must sing His praises, if we’d call Him, ‘Lord’. They’re His habitation, we read in His Word, Praise will lift us higher, closer to our King, When we think of Jesus, we should sing, sing, sing. Praise Him all His people, with voice and heart and hands, In every form and language, right across His lands, Praise Him in the heavens, praise Him here on earth, Celebrate His living, not just His day of birth. Praise Him as your Saviour, praise Him as the Son, Praise Him as the Spirit, since before the world begun. Praise Him as the Father, praise all the Trinity, Praise our Holy Godhead, three in One, and One in three. © 5/1/2004
Sun and sky and nature, all declare the King,
Birds and wind and water, of His mercies sing.
How can we deny it, that our God is Lord,
Let us join and praise Him, all in one accord.
Let us lift our voices, give a mighty shout,
Telling all in earshot, what this life’s about.
We must give Him glory, fill our mouths with praise,
