Oh precious Child, of Holy birth,
You chose to come and live on earth;
To leave Your throne, and status high,
Your heavenly realm – beyond our sky.
You put Yourself at our beck and call,
Became a servant to us all.
You gave Your very life away,
So all our debts, You could repay.
Yet still on earth, we doubt Your Word,
Refuse to see You as our Lord,
How can Your patience still hold out,
When You see our fear, our sin, our doubt?
You came to save and serve us all,
The rich, the strong; the poor, the small,
But we must give our lives to You,
To make you Lord, of all we do.
For though You are our Servant King,
You will not give us everything
We think we want or need to live,
You’ll give to us, what’s best to give.
You died that we might reunite,
With Father God, and share His might,
To stand against His ancient foe,
And not allow him to bring us low.
"Resist the devil, and he will flee,
But first submit yourself to Me."
If we will follow God’s Holy Word,
We will fight the devil, with a blazing sword.
He gave us weapons, which we can use,
But to fight this battle, we must choose
To don the armour which He has given,
And stand in the strength of our Lord in heaven.
For though he left this lowly earth,
The one He came to through humble birth,
He left for us His Spirit strong,
To dwell in us, when to Him we belong.
And in His strength, we can do all things,
Can face all the trials, the devil brings,
We can stand and fight, we can praise and sing,
Tell the world the great love, of their Servant King.
