Gentle fire falls from heaven, Burning out all sin and shame, Faithful prayers of love and caring, Will ignite the Spirit’s flame. Gentle rain from gentle Saviour, Washing clean the foulest stain, Earnest worship and entreaty, Soon precipitates the rain. Wind that whistles through the Body, Bringing life with greatest ease, ‘Tis the praises of His people, That will bring this blessed breeze. Power flows into His people, Giving strength to do His will, Prayers of faith and love united, Draws this power to us still. Revival comes to those who seek it, Cleansing, cleaning, - life and soul, As we pray for one another, Jesus’ Spirit makes us whole. Each must seek his own revival, Bowing down before our King, As His people come submitted, Hear the hosts of heaven sing. As His flood flows through the nation, We must sink or we must swim, Abandoning all vain ambitions, Focussing alone on Him. When all people join in worship, We shall see Him glorified, As we sing our loud hosannas, He will draw us to His side. As we join the saints and angels, We shall know as we are known, To us feeling so unworthy, All His grace and glory shown. © 24/8/97
