Adulation

 

To what do we give adulation?

To what do we give all our praise?

To what do we give all the honour?

The best part of all of our days.

Is our greatest love, Lord of Creation?

The ruler of heaven and earth?

Do we give Him the time that is due Him,

Let Him rule every moment since birth?

He knew us before we were breathing,

He knew us before we were born,

Before ever our parents conceived us,

He pictured our essence and form.

We’re not just a happening of nature,

An accident, chance nor a clone,

We’re born because Father designed us,

He chose us for His very own.

For each He has planned out a purpose,

For each there’s a vision He chose,

But we must choose Him as our Master,

Accept that our life’s plan, He knows.

For He will not force it upon us,

He’ll allow us to go our own way,

But if we choose to wander without Him,

For our ‘pleasures’ eternally we’ll pay.

For life has its own set of payments,

The laws are already in place,

We can live as though nothing else matters,

Or keep ever before us, His face.

The price that we pay is not heavy,

The cost has already been met,

By choosing the Lord as our Saviour,

His Grace and His Mercy we get.

For He chose to cover the charges,

The cost, and accusings of sin,

His death and His Blood covered payment,

And opened the way for us in.

We have only to know Him as Saviour,

To speak out this Word from our heart,

Invite Him to live now within us,

And in Him, we can make a fresh start.

His promise is never to leave us,

To guide us, and help us each day,

His yoke, it sits lightly upon us,

As we link up and walk on His Way.

And we know it’s to Him we give honour,

Our praise, adulation and love,

Here on earth as we strive to be like Him,

And then with Him in heaven above.
