God’s Union
God set in place a union, As holy as He, Where man, and wife and Saviour, Are knit as one from three. When God created Adam, He left him not alone, He saw man needed company, As He smiled down from His throne. God took a bone from Adam’s rib, And formed for him a wife, To walk with him, and stand by him, Throughout this earthly life. To be a shield around his heart, To nestle in his arm, And he, in turn protect her, And keep her safe from harm. And though this world has wandered, Far from the Master’s plan, God blesses still the union, Of Godly maid and man. So as you step upon this path, Now joined as man and wife, I pray you always give to God The first place in your life. I pray He always blesses you, And leads you in His ways, And that you sense His guiding hand, Throughout all coming days. And may His great, amazing love, Flow through your lives, and out, Till blessed, you both are blessings, To others round about. Amen. © 26/2/03
