The Lord has searched across the land,
For people who will seek His hand,
Yet not His hand must take first place,
For surely we must seek His face.
And when His face is in our view,
It shines on all that is not true,
It brings our failings into light,
So He can turn our wrong to right.
His light can burn out sin and shame,
There's none need perish in the flames,
Nor fall a prey to satan's games;
And by His power, we are free,
Our greatest strength comes on our knees.
We bow before our mighty God,
And with His gospel, we are shod,
We turn our eyes on Him above,
And all we see, is His great love.
Thus armed with love that cannot fail,
Unto the lost we trim our sail,
And sailing on a sea of strife,
We cast abroad the net of Life.
The writhing fish we must draw in,
Are Father's children, lost in sin,
He wants that none of them be lost,
And asks that we not count the cost,
Of serving One who gave Hisall,
The moment He heard Father's call,
He asks that we will do the same,
Gives us the right to call His name;
Draw on the Power, whom He sent,
When to our Father's home He went.
To trust that He will clear the way,
Give us the words we need to say.
Obedience will break the yoke
Of which on earth our Master spoke,
This earthly yoke is sin and strife,
His yoke is Love, and Light, and Life.
To be His servant is our task,
To do whatever He might ask,
Yet though His servant, we are kin,
His Father has allowed us in;
Into this family of God,
To tread the Way which He has trod.
We mark the footsteps He has trod,
Which show the pathway home to God.
A pathway narrow, steep and long,
A pathway brightened by our song
Of praise and worship to our King,
And angels join us as we sing.
For praise brings Presence of our Lord,
By earth and heaven above adored,
For in His strength we do all things,
From life, to love, to worshipping.
So we must seek to know Him more;
Within us, open every door,
To let His light of love shine through,
And bring Him clearly into view.
So others gazing on our face,
May see not us, but see His grace,
May step from death and into Life,
Make ready to be Jesus' wife.
For Christ will come with great acclaim,
When all have heard His precious Name,
And though all cannot go and teach,
He's given separate jobs to each.
So each must faithfully commit
To do, however small, our bit;
To spread, on earth, His Word around,
'Till all can see that He is crowned,
The Lord of Heaven, and of earth,
As was intended at His birth,
And way before, it was the plan,
Since time before the earth began.
For He is God who was and is,
And we are called to learn of this,
To know before all else we do,
Dear God, our lives, belong to You. Amen
