Fire of the Holy Spirit,
Blazes across the sky;
How can the face of Almighty God,
Be seen by the naked eye?
Light of a million candles,
Glory that we can see,
Who can gaze on a sunset,
And never have bended knee?
Colours no artist can capture,
Splendors no poet can tell;
Only our God creates sunsets,
For He has done all things well.
Humbly we gaze on His sunsets,
Convinced that God truly is there;
Hearts lifted to Him in praises,
That with us this splendour, He’d share.
Blessing that shines out His glory,
Promise once more of His peace;
God shows forth His benediction,
A time for our worries to cease.
His sunsets may herald an ending,
A time when the daylight is done;
But they promise, again in the morning,
New life will arise with the sun.
Each day He brings forth His new mercies,
Each day He holds out loving hands;
His love is the same the world over,
And His sun, sets in all of His lands.
