Grow In Trust

Step out on the water,
Though you know you cannot swim,
Don’t trust in your ability,
Just put your trust in Him.

Reach out to your brother,
Though you know not what to say,
Put your trust in Jesus,
And your Lord will show the way.

You must choose to step out further,
Than you ever thought you’d go,
If you want to let Him stretch your faith,
And you want your trust to grow.

And as your trust grows stronger,
Where you walk along His way,
You’ll feel your Lord much closer,
As you draw to Him each day.


For He does not withdraw from you,
When other things take hold,
But you push other things between,
Like talent, fame or gold.

And you can feel your love grow cold,
Your faith grow thin and thready,
And God cannot promote you more,
Until He knows you’re ready.

So grow in trust, my brother,
Let Jesus stretch you more,
And you will see the work for you,
The Father has in store,

The more you trust in Jesus,
The more your faith will grow,
The more that God can use you,
And His glory to you show.

His mercies shower on you,
His blessings He’ll bestow,
All because you let Him stretch your faith,
And allowed your trust to grow.
