Do You Flounder
Is your life’s ship floundering on the rocks, Breaking into pieces ‘neath your feet? Are you bruised and reeling from the knocks That led to your despair and your defeat? Tossed aside and plunged into the sea? Heart and hope now cast down by the storm? Feel you never will or can be free, And all around is heartache, hurt and harm? Drowning in a sea of doubt and fear, Sinking ‘neath the waves that bring despair? Not knowing that the Lord, Himself is near, Waiting for His child to cast their care? Why should faith seem hidden in the mire, Buried deep beneath the muddy clay, While the Holy Spirit breathes His fire, Waiting for God’s child to turn His Way? Can you reach an arm to grasp His Word? Dare you feel His Rock beneath your feet? For your greatest anchor is His Word, And your greatest need, His Grace can meet. There is nothing else can satisfy, Nothing that can meet your every need, Though there’s many things that you can try, Only God your heart can truly feed. © Ailsa Yates 28/1/2004 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Revive Us We come to drink at Your fountain, Lord, To dip our cups into Your sparkling waters of Life, You refresh and revive us, draw us into Yourself – Before You send us out, renewed, into Your world. A world that is straining to see, what it cannot see, Dying to hear, what it will not hear, A world, looking to Your church, to light their Way; To open their eyes to Your Love. Help us to be Your light, oh Lord, Let us be Your transparent vessels, Let Your light be placed, unhidden, within us, Translucent vessels of Your finest clay. Fill our minds and mouths, with Your wisdom, oh Lord, Our hearts with Your unjudging Love, Give us Your hunger for the lost and hurting, And let them see You shining brightly when they look at us. Revive us, that we might be springs of living water, That we might be the healing breath of Your Holy Spirit, The cleansing purge of His blazing fire, Revive us to Your Love, that we may be that love to others. We praise You, Lord, that You are never changing, Your love is a bottomless well, You long that none should perish, You allow us to share in the fulfilment of that dream. Holy, holy, holy, cry the angels around Your throne, Our hearts and spirits, rise to join them, You alone are worthy of our praise and attention, You are our hope, our light and our life. Revive Your church, Lord, revive Your people, Revival comes to those who know or knew You, Revive us Lord, we pray; That those who know You not, may be reborn. Amen © 18-20/2/04
Revive Us
We come to drink at Your fountain, Lord,
To dip our cups into Your sparkling waters of Life,
You refresh and revive us, draw us into Yourself –
Before You send us out, renewed, into Your world.
A world that is straining to see, what it cannot see,
Dying to hear, what it will not hear,
A world, looking to Your church, to light their Way;
To open their eyes to Your Love.
Help us to be Your light, oh Lord,
Let us be Your transparent vessels,
Let Your light be placed, unhidden, within us,
Translucent vessels of Your finest clay.
Fill our minds and mouths, with Your wisdom, oh Lord,
Our hearts with Your unjudging Love,
Give us Your hunger for the lost and hurting,
And let them see You shining brightly when they look at us.
Revive us, that we might be springs of living water,
That we might be the healing breath of Your Holy Spirit,
The cleansing purge of His blazing fire,
Revive us to Your Love, that we may be that love to others.
We praise You, Lord, that You are never changing,
Your love is a bottomless well,
You long that none should perish,
You allow us to share in the fulfilment of that dream.
Holy, holy, holy, cry the angels around Your throne,
Our hearts and spirits, rise to join them,
You alone are worthy of our praise and attention,
You are our hope, our light and our life.
Revive Your church, Lord, revive Your people,
Revival comes to those who know or knew You,
Revive us Lord, we pray;
That those who know You not, may be reborn.
Amen
