God's Vision

You placed within my heart, oh Lord,
A task You’d have me do,
But it is up to me to find,
The thing which pleases You.

You had a vision for me,
A dream for me alone,
And always You have loved me,
As if Your only one.

You saw the end of every life,
Before that life began,
You have a plan for each of us,
Each woman, child and man.

You will not force our choosing,
Insist that we comply,
But we can find Your plan for us,

If only we will try.

We’ll live the life You saw for us,

Fulfill our part for You,
And as we step into Your dream,
Our hope and hearts renew.

For life without a vision,
Is dreary, worn and sad,

But when we see Your dream for us,
Our hearts are once more glad.

Our lives regain their purpose,
Our spirit sees its way,
Our hearts are filled with hope and joy,
As we step out each new day.

So help me see Your vision, Lord,

To see the ‘me’ You see,
To walk into the life You planned,
Of fears and worries free.

To place my trust, into Your Word,
My life into Your hands,
To know You’ve only good for me,
In all Your dreams and plans.

To put aside my ‘feelings’, Lord,
And listen to Your voice,
To let Your peace my ruler be,

In each and every choice.

And let me fill Your vision, Lord,
The one You have for me,
Let me walk straight along Your path,
Show love, to all I see.

And all who see me walk this way,
May they see through to You,
May I show out Your loving, Lord,
In all I say and do.

And may Your vision be complete,
In all who choose Your Way,
May every Christian listen, Lord,
To hear the words You say.

May every seeker hear Your voice,
Although they may not know,
And may a Christian be nearby,
Your Love and Life to show.

And may Your dream for all mankind,
To know You as they’re known,
Grow ever closer, day by day,
As Your love by us is shown.

We know You have a vision, Lord,
For each and every one,
And if we do not listen, Lord,

Some things might not get done.

So give us ears to hear You, Lord,

And eyes that choose to see,
The way that You have chosen, Lord,
The one You’d have us be.

For Your way, it is perfect, Lord,
Your love is strong and true,
And if we follow in Your ways,
We’ll daily grow like You.

We walk toward Your guiding light,
We draw our strength from You,
And try to follow where You lead,
To make Your dream come true.
