GRACE Lord You love me so I know that this is true. No matter where I go I can't escape from You. Why should I even try To hide the way I do? I hear my own heart cry:- "I long to be with You." You gently call my name Stretch out Your arms to me, You fan Your Spirit's flame, Why should I choose to flee? I run from You until I find I meet You face to face. Your Spirit's there to bring to mind Your everlasting Grace. © 10/5/96 SELF As I lay in my bed a-dreaming, I saw a young woman stand there. She wasnât the least attractive, She had rather non-descript hair. But as I lay watching, God beckoned, Drawing her close to His side. And I knew that whateâre she was lacking, He chose her as part of His bride. I lay knowing that I was this woman, With all of my doubts and my fears; And God is my own precious Father, Who loves me and dries all my tears. I would come in love just to worship, And bring what I can to His feet; And He sees me with love and compassion, And raises me up to His seat. Though the world sees only my failings, Though it sees only what I canât do; The Lord takes my efforts and loves me, And says, "Child, I really love you." Iâll give Him the best of my weakness, Iâll give Him whatever I can. Iâll look for my Fatherâs approval, Instead of approval from man. Heâs more than my Lord and my Master, Heâs more than my Saviour and King, Heâs more than a Friend and Companion, Heâs Love, Life and Everything. © 13/7/96 |
