THE BIBLE

There’s a Book where the answer can always be found,
A Book where adventure and daring abound,
A Book that is honoured the whole world around,
The Bible.

 

It’s a Book that is more than just written word,
It’s a message for all, direct from the Lord,
Showing pauper or king, we by God are adored,
Our Bible.

 

Its words are alive, they reach into our heart,
And if on the Spirit, we call at the start,
He’ll teach as we read it, for that is His art,
Living Bible.

 

There are sixty-six books in the Old and the New,
And many a message, for me and for you,
So seek of the Spirit, what He’s leading you to,
In His Bible.

 

There is history there, and the base of the law,
And the Old Jewish teaching we cannot ignore,
When we turn to the New, of Christ’s love, we learn more,
In the Bible.

 

There is brotherly love, and there’s brotherly hate,
And detailed descriptions of what people ate,
The prodigal son, for his share, couldn’t wait,
See the Bible.

 

There are heroes, and villains, and those in between,
And suffering people, of sickness made clean,
And a wonderful Saviour, on whom we can lean,
In this Bible.

 

There are things in this Bible, that I cannot share,
For when you explore it, His Spirit is there,
And He’ll show you things, of which I’m not aware,
Read the Bible.
