FAREWELL TO DAD
The time has come, to say good-bye, To all that’s gone before. Our minds cannot encompass, The joys God has in store. You took our hands and led us, When we were only young; Now your hand is held by God above; Your new life has begun. And though we mourn and miss you, Our sadness you don’t share, For you’re beyond all pain and tears, You’re safely in God’s care. His loving arms enfold you, You dwell with Him above, You’re healed, restored, and sanctified, Through His overwhelming love. A husband, Dad, Grandfather, To each of us you’ve been; Now your eyes behold a glory, That none of us have seen. But we will see you once again, Of that we can be sure, When we stand in God’s presence, Washed in His love so pure. So let us say, our fond farewells, As we think on good times past, And hold fast to our trust in God, Till we reunite at last. © 29/5/01
