God never changes, not then, not yet, not now,
But as He draws us further from ourselves, to Him,
The vision that we see, from Him,
Is changed and stretched, somehow.
We see the problems of our life
Loom like a giant tall,
Yet as we step away, toward God,
His glory shows them small.
We see so big, our little world, Our home, our hope, our view; Yet when we look, from by God’s side,
Our vision, He’ll renew.
We’ll see it in a different way,
Our live fall into place,
The world reflected in His eyes,
When we look into His face.
For God can change our vision,
It’s His remains the same,
But we can grow more like Him,
The more we call His name.
It’s only prayer can change us, His power, His strength, His might,
He holds them out before us,
And tells us they’re our right.
The right to these He earned us,
He paid the needed toll,
We only have to ask Him,
These gifts are there for all.
This vision which He offers,
Does not come without cost,
But what can we begrudge Him,
In His fight to save the lost?
His payment was far greater,
Than any we might give,
And He’s already paid it;
That’s why we’re free to live
Within the power of His love,
His vision to proclaim,
To tell our friends, or tell the world,
Salvation’s in His Name.
God’s vision is far wider,
Than those which we might choose,
He sees a world, where all are saved,
There’s not one He would lose.
The cost He places on us,
Our lives to Him we yield,
Then He’ll send us out to harvest,
The ripe crops from the field.
