Celebration
Ring the bells, and blow the trumpets, Shout God’s praises from on high, There’s a soul that has been rescued, Celebration fills the sky. Do we celebrate in our life, For the day we were set free? Do I daily bring to my mind, How Christ died to rescue me? Though He broke the chains of bondage, When He on the Cross was hung, It was not till my eyes opened, That, for me, new life begun. Oh, the cheering, and the gladness, In the halls of heaven above, When this lost and lowly sinner, Dared accept their Saviour’s love. For, though love is laid before us, Though His life, He freely gave, We must make our own decision, Allowing Him, our life to save. Though we feel ourselves unworthy, Though we see ourselves as nought, How can we dismiss so lightly, What His lifeblood, truly bought! We are now His prized possessions, Though He leaves us still to choose, Satan had us; Christ redeemed us, All we have, is hell to lose. Satan will not give us loving, Neither can he offer life; He will only offer turmoil, Days of sadness, years of strife. When we claim our Lord and Master, Bow our knee to God above, He responds with celebration, Peace and joy, and always, love. For the Father runs to claim us, When we, to Him, a step will take, And His arms are always open, He will love us, for Christ’s sake. Angels fill the air with singing, Joyful praise ‘round heaven’s hall, ‘Tis the same for each saved sinner, We are welcome, one and all. Celebrate our God’s great mercy, Celebrate His power and might, Know with joy, how much He loves you, He celebrates --you found the Light! © 20-23/2/2005
