TRUST

Trust is a hope that is certain and sure,

Trust in the promise of love that is pure,

Trust is a treasure we need every day,

To follow His Word, we must trust and obey.

He trusts us to listen when He calls our name,

We can trust, that He will respond just the same,

He listens, and loves that we place our trust there,

And we can be sure, we are safe in His care.

Our forefather, Moses, trusted in God,

And found the ground holy, whereon he had trod,

Though he was no speaker, he relied on the Lord,

And trusted in Him to supply every word.

Though Abraham cherished and feared for his son,

He trusted in God to complete what he’d begun;

He laid Isaac down, and he lifted the knife,

And trusted the Lord to save him from strife.

From Adam through Jesus, the Lord’s never failed,

The prayer of the righteous has always availed,

And all can be righteous through Jesus’ own blood,

If we trust in the cleansing and power of that flood.

If we trust in the Lord, we need never fear,

Though satan and cohorts around us draw near,

For greater the power Who lives in our heart,

And nothing from His love can ever us part.

We trust in His power, we trust in His might,

We trust that He always will lead us aright,

We trust in His mercy, we trust in His love,

We trust, for He loves us – our Father above.
