Waiting For The One
The Father’s eyes still scoured the land, The gate He would not close, For there was one still not to hand, He could not bear to lose. He opened wide His arms of love. His call went far and wide, ”Look up, My child, look here above, For safety, come inside. Come shelter ‘neath My feathers, child, Those wings that will you shield, Though by the world you be reviled, In Me all hurts are healed. And there is room, beneath My wings, For any who might come, My heart it yearns, above all things; I’m waiting for the one. The one who hides in doubt and fear, Who dare not come inside, Whose heart is longing to draw near, But tries instead to hide. For satan is a cruel foe, His mouth is filled with lies, And though, sometimes, his tricks you’ll know, Sometimes he’s in disguise. He’ll tell you that you’ve gone too far, That I no longer care, ’You’ve blown your chance, you’re where you are, And God will leave you there.’ It is not true, I won’t condemn, No matter what you do, My heart is soft toward all men, I’m waiting here for you. I’ll place My robe upon your back, My ring upon your hand, I’ll ask you gently, what you lack, As by your side I’ll stand. I took your sin, I took your shame, And washed them all away, You’re covered by My blood and Name, And in My arms you’ll stay. So won’t you heed your Father’s call, Tell friends and neighbours too, And tell each one, yes tell them all, "God’s waiting, just for you.’ "
