CALVARYS CHALLENGE

The tomb stands empty, cold and bare,

Our risen Saviour is not there,

The women wept and so do we,

We come and pile our sins on Thee.

With arms outstretched You take them all,

With arms outstretched, the lost You call,

You died to take them all away,

For every sin you chose to pay.

Folk wonder why we worship You,

And why we do the things we do.

Yet when we look into Your eyes,

To know You is our greatest prize.

A child will grow in fits and starts,

And sometimes grieve a Father’s heart.

But as a Father understands,

You gently hold us in Your hands.

And as Your Son we come to know,

You smile upon us as we grow,

We know He paid the awful cost,

And for Him reach to help the lost.

                               FREE WILL

My Lord, my Father and my King,

Without a voice the flowers sing.

Creator of the universe,

Cry all the creatures of the earth.

Yet man alone must wonder , "Why?",

And by our choice God’s way defy.

It is this choice to us You give,

We choose to die, or choose to live,

To live Your way brings peace of mind,

The world’s way; turmoil brings, we find.

Your law of Love’s our destiny,

It does not bind, it sets us free.

You want us free to turn to You,

To show Your love in all we do.

In fact that was Your new command,

Not honoured when we act offhand.

To love – is more than tolerate,

It’s more than simply not to hate.

I hate no one a man may say,

And smile when he kneels down to pray.

But does the Father also smile?

Have we walked that extra mile?

Can we humbly; truly say :-,

All saw God’s love in me today?
