Christmas 2002

Rejoice, sing the carollers, aglow in the heat,
While the cars and the trucks roar past in the street,
Peace on earth, sing the children, as sweet as can be,
But fighting and wars on the news we still see.

Do we look at those pictures, and the bad news we hear,
Or hold to the Word, as the truth, to us dear?
For God’s Word is still true, some two thousand years on,
As true as it was, when He sent us His Son.

He still offers His peace, and His love, and His joy,
He remains just the same, as when Christ was a boy,
Though it seems that our world, is away from Him bent,
His love is the same, as when Jesus He sent.

And the true heart of Christmas, the love of our Lord,
Is spread to the world, as we spread out His Word,
And whether there’s snow, or whether there’s heat,
The message is true to whomever we meet!

So sing out the carols, with gladness and cheer,
Sing out your rejoicing that Jesus is here,
Sing out the glad tidings, of His precious birth,
Praise to God, Joy to all, and again, Peace on Earth !
