Lord, I rail against Your love, Beat my fists against its enormity, Assure myself, I am hidden ‘safe’ within my shell, Yet still You find a way to reach me. Why do I hide from what I most desire? Assume You ‘love’ like Your creation, When will I see that You do not love with man’s imperfection? You are love, in all its beauty and enormity. Such love my mind cannot contain, My heart, though empty, cannot hold, Such love opens nail pierced hands to all my hurting, And safe within Your heart, my heart, enfolds. © 2/3/04
