Why?

Why do we see the sun, and not the light?
Why in the world, must there always be a fight?
Why can mankind, never live aright?
God knows.

Why do we keep our hearts and eyes downcast?
Why let days and years, in haste, rush past?
Why not turn to the words of truth, that last?
God shows.

Why should we try to walk, the narrow way?
Why should we listen, to what God has to say?
Why should we read His Book, every day?
God grows.

Why should we offer a hand of love?
Why pray for healing from above?
Why speak of the Spirit, sweet, gentle dove?
God flows.

Why was there ever a Calvary?
Why did Jesus’ death set us free?
Why at His Name, do demons flee?
God overthrows!

Why did God choose to create mankind?
Why in each of us does He pleasure find?
Why the whole of our lives, with His love, does He bind?
Only God knows!!
