Peace

PEACE

In the midst of confusion, is Your peace,

Awareness of Your loving arms around,

And the knowledge that this love, --

Will never cease.

Peace is not my lifetime running smooth and calm,

But Your Presence in my troubles,

And the power of Your Spirit, --

To pour on needed balm.

A Christian’s life, like any other, may never run to plan,

But we have a close Companion,

Who knows the way our life should go, --

He was there when it began.

Peace is the calm within the storm, that keeps our soul from harm;

The Spirit’s Breath of Life within,

As the Saviour, speaking in our ear, --

Will keep us from alarm.

Peace is a gift of the Spirit, a certainty within,

That where we go, or who we are,

Is not the basis of our peace, --

It’s where our Saviour’s been.

And when His Spirit’s in control, the ruler in our life,

He’s Master o’er our toil and fret,

He’s beaten worry and regret, --

And set us free from strife.

Peace is the aim of our spirit, peace is the need of our soul,

As we walk in His Word and His loving,

As we live in His grace and His light,

We’ll have peace in the joy and the knowledge;

Our Saviour’s in total control.
