GOD’S WOMEN
Daughters of Zion, ascend My holy hill, Bring Me your alabaster box, place in it thoughts and will, And I will take it gladly, break open o’er My feet, And smell its perfume rising high, a perfume, oh, so sweet. Daughters of Zion, My precious women strong, For women who will worship Me, your Lord has waited long, Place worries, cares, and all your strife, upon My shoulders broad, Take time from all your busyness, to lay before your Lord. For there is much that I can do, with women who will pray, Who’ll bring Me all their hopes and fears, and love Me every day. Each man must have a mother, who will teach and guide him through, And help him take his place in God, as I meant for him to do. But motherhood is not the only, way to bless your Dad, It’s simply in our loving Him; we make our Father glad; He sees us all as special, and worthy of His grace, We look, and see, His love for us, reflected in His face. Yes, every woman’s precious, to her Father’s loving eyes, No matter what her calling; her looks, her shape, her size; For each can bless the Father, as she comes to Him in prayer, Especially when she tarries, and does not rush from there. Our Father loves to talk with us, to laugh, to sing, to cry; The times that we feel distant, He only asks we try To come into His Presence; we’ll find Him waiting there, To show how much He loves us, to pour on us His care. For we are women who matter, we’re chosen of the King, He’s given us the power, through Him to do all things. We’ll take our place for Jesus, our lamps we’ll keep well filled, That when the Bridegroom does return, He’ll find that we are thrilled, To see our Saviour standing there, and beckoning us in, Into the wedding feast that He, is waiting to begin. So mighty women of Zion, be proud to take your stand, And spread the love of Jesus, abroad throughout our land. © 13/11/00
