Galloping carelessly over a cliff top, Charging blindly in to the unknown, Shouldn’t we try to warn our young folk,
Not leave them to ‘find it out on their own’?
There is a life beyond this moment,
There is a reason to stop and care, There is a future, and they can be in it,
There’s more to this life, than of what they’re aware.
‘Live for the now’ this world would tell them,
Grasp it, and take it, and make it your own,
Now is the world all for ‘give me’ and ‘let me’,
A time more like Noah’s than we’ve ever known.
But God gave His promise, no more He would flood us,
Never again would He wipe us all out,
Now is the time we must make His Word known,
Let the youth of today see what His love’s about.
They have no purpose, no reason for living,
No reason to hope for a future that’s bright,
They need to know that their lives are in His hands,
They can live by His Spirit, and not by their might.
His is a promise to guide us and lead us,
His plans are to help us and not bring us harm,
But many a youth still knows nothing about Him,
As searching for ‘something’, toward hell they still swarm.
In this land of rich promise, many young are still dying,
Lost and alone and confused about life,
They speed, or take dope, drink and party till morning,
Searching for something to answer their strife.
Many a life that’s cut short by their own hand,
Many in youth who should never have died,
Jesus has called us to bring them before Him, He has loved them, and heard them, before they have cried.
He is the answer for whom they are searching,
His love is the ointment for their greatest pain,
Somehow we need to let Him rule our nation,
Not wait for disaster to strike us again,
The youth of today are this country’s great future,
The eyes of the blind must be opened to see,
God’s grace is amazing, it heals and it cleanses,
”The door to the Father”, says Jesus, “is Me.’
“If I be lifted,” says Jesus, ourSaviour,
”High above men, I will draw them to Me”;
So should all Christians, lift on high Jesus,
Live out their faith, so that others Him see.
When He is lifted, over our nation,
When He is given all honour that’s due,
Then will the healing begin in our country,
The first step must be taken by me and by you.
We must live out, our faith in ourSaviour,
We must show others, what ‘Christian’ should mean,
In our daily living, in all of our actions,
Christ’s love, not our feelings, is what should be seen.
Only the knowledge of Jesus can help us,
Knowing His love and knowing His care,
Knowing He died and then rose, just to save us,
Opening our heart’s door to welcome Him there.
Laying our lives on the altar before Him, Placing our will into His guiding way,
Stepping toward the light that He’s shining, Learning to love Him and listen each day.
Thus we allow Him to lead us and use us,
Let Him reach to the young ones, with our hands and heart,
He will give us the ways and the means to achieve this,
He will open the way, if we just make a start.
Thank You, dear Lord, that You will not abandon,
Any lost soul, still seeking the way,
Faithful You’ve been, to Your people before us,
Faithful forever, You always will stay.
