CONSTANT

My God is the Lord of the Cross,

The One who died; souls to save;

My God is the King and the Boss,

The One who rose from the grave.

My God is the Lord of the storm,

The One who rules o'er the world.

He was there before we were formed,

He was here when our lives unfurled.

My God rules with strength and with power,

Before Him each knee must bow.

Yet He formed the tiniest flower,

And no man can tell us how.

My God is the ruler of all,

Before Him all demons must flee.

At His feet even rulers must fall,

And yet He still cares for me.

His power fills us with awe,

His might brings a reverent fear.

His Spirit inhabits our core,

His love for us draws us near.

Though satan may cover our eyes,

Though He clouds our minds with doubt,

Our Father still holds up our prize,

His Son shows the only way out.

His power within me is greater,

Than any that satan can throw,

Though I fall to the depths of a crater,

God is there, just to catch me, I know.

With His hand holding mine I can face life,

Though my heart it may tremble and quake;

When I'd rather just run from all strife,

I will try to stand firm, for His sake.

NO ROOM

No room at the inn they heard them say,

Did they turn discouraged and go away?

No, they found somewhere close beside to stay,

For God Himself had opened the way.

No room in my heart, He hears us say,

Does He turn disgusted and go away?

No, still close beside us He’ll quietly stay,

And wait for His Spirit to show us the Way.

In a wooden manger, His head was laid,

And all around beasts moo-ed and brayed,

And yet His parents were not dismayed,

The Peace of God kept them unafraid.

For us, on the Cross, Himself He laid,

The heavy cost of our sin He paid,

That none of us need be afraid,

To claim the love this act displayed.

The angels sang of Christmas joy,

Proclaimed the birth of this newborn Boy;

Even the stars did God employ,

As a sign for the faithful to enjoy.

If we would know this special joy,

We need the Man, who grew from the Boy,

To ask God to our hearts employ,

Rest in His love and Him enjoy.
