Daddy’s Little Princess
Is that what you see, When you look at me? Daddy’s little princess? Hardly! You see a middle aged woman, Or worse; A silly old lady, Spouting out verse. But God looks at us, With such different eyes, And He sees all our ‘facts’, As just so many lies. The world says we’re ugly, The mirror the same; He says we are precious:- The reason He came. The world says we’re stupid, We won’t make the grade, He says we won gold:- When His life down He laid While man judges our value, Asks we prove our worth, He looked and adored us:- Left Heaven for earth. Whose score do we look to? Which judgement is best? If God says we are special:- What matter the rest? For men are His heroes, And women His joy, He loves and approves us:- Man, woman, -- girl, boy. He says we are special, Not for what we do, To Him I’m a princess:- And so, friend, are you. But, ‘I am a male!", You might quickly decry, Okay; ley’s say simply:- You are loved in His eye!! For us He was willing, The top price to pay, Took on human life, So it down, He could lay. He defeated the devil, And He rose from the grave, Just because there was someone:- He wanted to save!! That someone was you, But it also was me, As He gazed from the Cross:- Our face He could see. And He looked with compassion, With love and grace too, He said, "Father forgive them, They know, not, what they do." He made us in love, He redeemed us the same, And now as His children, We take on His Name. For Christian is not, Just a label we wear, It states we belong, To Whose Name we now share. We’re a child of the King, If we feel it or not, And if we accept them, His treasures we’ve got. The wealth of His wisdom, The jewel of His love, The depth of His mercy, That flows from above. The pearl of His peace, And the riches of joy, A goldmine of gentleness, Can all be our toy. We can live in His love, We can swim in His flood, From His throne flows a river, We were cleansed in His Blood. And as we discover, The depth of His care, It needs to be something, We really must share. For there are so many, Don’t know what to do, Don’t know that already, They are royalty too. Their Father’s the King, And He knows them by name, But He must allow them, The right to Him claim. For He will not force it, This choice you must make, There is death or there’s life:- Now which will you take? Choose Life, now, my friend, That’s all you need do, Let Him be your Lord, And a Father to you. You can be His princess, (Or prince, if you’d rather); But whoever you are; You’ll have God for your Father. His arms are wide open, His heart is the same, He is saying, "My child, You’re the reason I came. Surrender your will, Put your life in My hand, And discover the treasures For you I have planned. My yoke it is easy, My burden is light, I’ll walk right beside you, And I’ll fight your fight. Let Me be your strength, And a shield for your arm, With My armour upon you, You are safe from all harm. For the devil may huff, And the devil may blow, But safe in My shadow, My peace you will know. You’ll be with Me in Heaven, I am with you on earth, We’re together forever, Since you claimed your new birth. Remember your value, To Whom you belong, Let your heart not grow weary, But fill it with song. Sing praise to your Father, Give thanks for His Name, For He never is changing, His love stays the same. He is faithful and loyal, And always will be, You belong to My Father:- You belong, Child, to Me." © 14/6/03
