Look around you, perfect person, One who’s got it, oh, so right, Can you see the one who’s hurting, On your left and on your right? Can you see the pain within them, Pain they dare not, you to show, They must mask it with their smiling, Daring not to let you know. Loud you shout your alleluias, High above, your arms you wave, Let them see how high you’re soaring, No compassion for them save. Don’t allow their fears to touch you, Just dismiss the hand reached out, God is touched far more, you figure, By the loudness of your shout. Can a Christian really falter? Could they be in need of care?Tell them just to shout out, “Glory”,If they come to you for prayer. Jesus saw our many failings, Fear and doubt around Him saw, Though He said, “Now where’s your faith, lads?”He calmed the wind, brought them to shore. As Peter sank, He reached out to him,Lifted him above the sea,Said, “Though it’s with fear and trembling,Fix your eyes, My son, on Me.” Could it be that you are hiding, Imperfections, by your show? You don’t want your human failings, Anyone around should know. We are family in His Body, We should hold each other’s hand, Let our Christ-love for each other, Shine a beacon through our land. There are many lost and wandering, They don’t need some, “Holy Joe”, What they need is understanding, Told of Someone, Who their needs know. Reach out with your flaws and failings, Let them see the human you, It’s not you who’s oh, so perfect, But our Perfect God in you. © 22/9/06
