Arthur’s Tribute
Faithful servant, now at rest, With the Lord you loved the best; Though our tears may freely fall, You gave the gift; that was best of all. You walked God’s walk, and showed His love, You brought to earth, His heaven above, You taught us how to sing and pray, And lived for Jesus, every day. Your laughter showed that faith is fun, You’d words of cheer for everyone; You did not fear or dread death’s door, Of Life the other side, you’re sure. You’ve gone ahead to pave the way, But what you’ve left will strongly stay; You’ve left a legacy of hope, Your faith in God will help us cope. And in that cloud that cheers us on, Of saints who heavenward have gone, We’ll see a face we know so well, And hear the stories that you’d tell. We’ll know that you’re not far away, You’re close to Jesus, when we pray; Forever cheering, urging on, And waiting till we too come home. You sowed your life for Jesu’s sake, For those in need, you time would make; A crown in heaven, you will reap, Bedecked with jewels that will keep. Each jewel is a soul you’ve won, Since on His pathway, you begun; And though we mourn our loss in you, We’ll live the way you taught us to. We’ll praise the Lord, and lift Him high, And thank Him that He still draws nigh, To comfort those who mourn and weep, And in His arms, their loved one keep. We’ll sing His praise and loudly cheer, And thank Him that He’s always near, We’ll turn to Him when we are sad, And celebrate the life you’ve had. © 24/2/03
Faithful servant, now at rest,
With the Lord you loved the best;
