How many gifts, do I give you, My love; To let you know you are Mine? What must I do, to draw you, My love; To make you a branch of My vine? I gave you the gift that was biggest of all, My life on the Cross I did lay; I lay down My life, for the great and the small; And yet you can still turn away. I give you the tiniest flower or bird, To show you My love and My care, I whisper to you that your prayers are all heard; Yet you act as if I’m not there. I blaze ‘cross the sky, a rainbow so bright, Declaring My promise to you; I brighten your sky with My stars in the night; Yet you shut Me out of the view. I gently caress with a newborn babe’s hand, Your cheek, or your lips or your face; I show forth My love through those whom I command; Yet you wonder from whence came your race. I’ve love beyond measure, to pour out for you, To heal and to mend and to save; Your freedom was bought, I can make your life new; And yet you remain like a slave. Oh come to Me child, and let Me express, All the love that I have stored inside; And let Me adorn you in jewels and pure dress; I want you to come as My bride. I want you to come to Me willing and free, To trust that I’ll do you no harm; I want you to come just because you love Me; To come to My love and be warm. To bask in this love that I want to pour out, On the one that I loved more than life; To live in My love without shadow or doubt, To surrender to love as My wife. To know that in heaven, you’ll know as you’re known, And that then, e’en as now, you will be Wrapped in love, washed in Blood, into Me you’ll have grown; Completely surrendered to Me. © 29/10/98
