Christmas Anew
Our mouths are filled with singing, Our hearts are filled with love, The womb is sprung to life with child, God’s blessing from above. The nations join rejoicing, The world in silence lay, All nature joined with heaven above, On that first Christmas Day. And though our lives are filled with haste, With rush, and stress, and fret, We still need time to contemplate; The Lord God loves us yet. And each new child a-stirring, Snugg’ed safely in the womb, Reminds us any time of year, Our heart needs give Christ room. So as the Christmas day draws near, And there’s so much to do, Set time aside to still your heart; Let Christmas come anew. © Dec 2005
