An arm around the shoulders, That special sort of squeeze, The Lord can use another’s arms, For holy hugs like these. Two arms flung right around one, The warmth of love flows through; God passes on His caring, Through folk like me and you. Words come out wrong and muddled, Although we really care, God gives another language, A hug says, "Hey, I’ll share". A hug transcends the barriers, Like Christ with arms spread wide, It makes a sure safe haven, Where lost and hurt can hide. So never be afraid to hug, To share God’s love around, Just listen to His Spirit, And let His love abound. © Ailsa Yates
