It can be so easy, sometimes, to read an account of an event in the Bible and think how we would have reacted differently. -- But would we? -- Good or bad, our actions and reactions are triggered by our past, our temprement, our knowledge of God's Word, our walk with the Lord, and often, after all that, our state of mind on any given day. There is a saying that Hindsight gives 20/20 vision, but I think more than that, looking back sometimes causes us to think we 'could' have acted differently when really, we are now a whole different person in the Lord.
I believe, all we can do, is keep our eyes on Him, our ears tuned to His voice, and daily place our lives in His hands. God bless you as you read this poem.

HINDSIGHT
Ten lepers were healed, but just one said thanks;
And we look and say, "How can this be?";
But if we were a part, of that blessed ten,
Would the thankful one be you or me?
It’s easy to look, from this side of the Cross,
And to judge those who walked in His day,
But if we were to meet Jesus, face to face;
I wonder what we’d have to say!
"Surely they saw," and "Surely they knew",
We say, as we read of His deeds;
But now we’ve His Spirit, alive inside us,
Do we bring to Him, all of our needs?
Do we trust in His blood, to cleanse all our sin?
Do we see ourselves in Him, as pure?
Or whip ourselves daily, with all we’ve done wrong,
As if of His grace, we’re not sure?
The world hasn’t changed much, since Jesus walked here,
As a people, we’re still much the same,
We go our own way, ‘till we get into strife;
Then we turn round, and call on His Name.
They had Him beside them, to teach and to tell,
And we know that in that, they were blessed;
But they only knew part, of the reason He came;
For Calvary, showed us the rest.
He tried to explain, that He’d rise from the dead,
That He would defeat death and sin;
They’d no way of grasping, what He spoke about,
Until He had risen again.
But we have the whole of His teaching laid out,
And His Spirit, within us to dwell,
We know of the danger, for those in the dark,
Yet allow them to drift into hell.
They followed our Lord, by their faith in His Words,
And we, surely, must do just the same;
For we have the grace, of the knowledge laid out,
That it was, for our sakes, that He came.
We have seen how He died, and we see how He rose,
And we’ve heard how He prayed for us all;
We know the commission, He left us behind,
That the sinners, to Him, we should call.
To claim Him as Saviour, to claim Him as Lord,
The One who came down from above;
To know that the reason, He suffered and died,
Was to show out the Father’s great love.
He showed out this love, as He walked on the earth,
It’s His love that is calling us still;
Come reach out with me, to partake of His love,
And let Him, our emptiness, fill.
He will pour in His love, He will pour in His peace,
He’ll accept every lost, hurting soul;
For it’s only in claiming, our Jesus, as Lord,
That the world, and each person’s, made whole.
For when all have heard, of our Glorious Lord,
Had the chance to proclaim Him as King;
He’ll return in the clouds, with a thunderous shout,
As the angels, of victory, sing.
And we’ll rise with our Saviour, in triumph and joy,
What rejoicing and gladness, there’ll be;
For the greatest reward, that any could ask,
Is the smile, on His face, we will see.
So hold fast to the path, that the Lord has set out,
Hold fast to His truth and His way;
Keep your face ever turned, toward His guiding light,
