Depression
Sin and darkness all around, Not a smiling face, Oh how much this hurting world, Needs to know God’s grace. Reckless chasing after cash, Seeking what they’ll gain, Yet the money brings not joy, Their hearts are still in pain. Still an empty, gaping hole, Resides within their heart; Only God can fill this hole, If we’ll show them where to start. Tell them that He died for them, And that He loves them so, These are just the simple things, That they need to know. They don’t need reminding, Of the things that they have done, They need to know forgiveness, And the love of God’s own Son. They need to see Salvation, Shine out upon our face, To know that there is joy for them, Once God has filled their ‘space’. They don’t need a lecture, Of how they ought to be, They need to know God’s love for them, In a way that they can see. We must be His witness, That life in Him is grand, Before we chase to ‘outer parts’; Must walk in our own land. And you must seek the ‘country’, That God has given you; Your neighbours and your family, And the places you go to. For God will call evangelists, To go to far off lands, But He loves as much, the people here, Though it seems, to you, not so grand. And we must have His heart for them, To know that they are lost, And if we’ll let our mouths stay shut; They’ll pay an awful cost. We need to turn our eyes without, And see the harvest there, To listen to the Lord within, And feel His pain and care. For He would not that one be lost, Would bring all to His side, If we choose who, we think to tell, We’re falling prey to pride. We need an ever-listening ear, To what He would command, Be ever ready with His Word, To all within our 'land’. And we will see His harvest come, And it will harvest more, For God can multiply the yield, The Word of God is sure. © 1/10/04
