DEAREST AND BEST

The sweetest thing I’ve ever known –

Forgiveness flowing from Your throne,

The depth of love poured out on me,

Will keep me ever praising Thee.

 

The dearest thing that I can hear –

Your Spirit calling me, "Draw near",

That You should choose to speak to me,

Will keep me ever loving Thee.

 

The hardest thing I have to do –

Is try to always act like You,

And yet Your Spirit gently leads,

My thoughts, my words and all my deeds.

 

The greatest thing ‘twas ever done –

The day You sacrificed your Son,

His precious life for me poured out –

The greatest gift, without a doubt.

 

 

The slightest whisper of a prayer –

And straight away Your Spirit’s there,

He’s bringing joy and love and peace,

I pray Your blessings never cease.

 

The very least You ask of me –

Is always turn my eyes to Thee,

That I might evermore be blest

By Jesus – Dearest and the Best.
