Moving Forward

 

Don't focus your eyes on the old ways,
Just because they are what you had planned,
For though they were right in their own days,
They will cause you to stick in the sand.

 

Keep your eyes on the cloud and its moving,
Be ready to move any hour,
Be open to where He is leading,
And God will supply you His power.

 

His pillar of cloud is your guidance,
Enlarging His Kingdom, your goal,
And if you will follow its pathway,
His Kingdom will grow, soul by soul.

 

So move when His Spirit is moving,
Be still when He tells you to stay,
For our God is forever unchanging,
And His way, it is always The Way.

 

The Israelites lost in the desert,
Had guidance that came from above,
Our God is still forever faithful,
He leads us with strength and with love.

 

In Him we are rooted and grounded,
With him, we have miles still to go,
Remembering on Whom we are founded,
We watch, as His way, He will show.

 

Our eyes fixed on Christ, our great leader,
Our feet set to walk in His way,
We move when we hear His commandment,
Our duty: - to ‘Trust and Obey’.

 

We move forward and into His battle,
Move forward, though fear bids us run,
Knowing Christ, He will bring to completion,
The good work, that in us, He’s begun.

 

Move forward that you’d do His bidding,
Advance so His kingdom can grow,
Move forward, with eyes firmly on Him,
And follow this leader you know.
