Lifted high upon a daydream,

Carried off on thoughts galore,

Dare I follow in the footsteps,

Of the saints who’ve gone before?

Can I walk the way my Lord did?

Can I hear our Father’s voice?

If I’d live my life for Jesus,

Time on time, must I make choice.

Choose the good that’s set before me,

Choose to walk away from hate,

Living life led by His Spirit,

Is a choice that cannot wait.

There’s a world that’s lost and hurting,

Searching for a love to heal;

If I’d bring that love before them,

I must daily to Him kneel.

Bring my life, complete, before Him,

With its joy, and with its woe,

Daily walking in His leading,

Till more of my Lord, I know.
