Lord, I don’t feel forgiven, Lord, I don’t feel Your love, I cling to the promises given, By the One who came down from above. How do I know my salvation? How do I know that I’m free? You came, not just for Israel, Your nation, You came, for each sinner, like me. Your Book, it is filled with Your promise, Of a life that is safe and secure, When we give ourselves into Your service, Of each promise, we now, can be sure. Each person on earth, has Your love, Lord, Each one can be Your’s, if they will, You tell us, to spread forth Your Word, Lord, For there’s many have not heard it still. For believing Your Word is our cleansing, Confessing You’re Lord, sets us free, But there’s no belief without hearing, And there’s those who must hear it from me! Refresh me, oh Lord, with Your Spirit, Pour into my spirit, new wine, Renew me, oh Lord, with Your Spirit, Remind me again, that I’m Thine. For I have become worn and weary, I’m battle-tired, battered and sore, My ‘faith’ has become but a theory, And my heart, it is joyful no more. There are enemies, camped all around me, That once I had thought to be friend, And Your love Lord, it is hidden from me, Though I know it is there ‘til the end. I will stand on Your promises given, I will know that Your Word, it is true, For no matter, how much I have striven, Salvation, comes only from You. I can rest in the fact that You love me, That, my feelings can not steal away; That no matter the things that I can’t see, Your Word, it forever will stay. Though the heavens and earth are but passing, Your Word, will forever be true, From now until time everlasting, I am bound, by Your Spirit, to You. And there’s none that can cut through that binding, Except me, with a choice of my will, Though my life like a thread is unwinding, I will cling to Your promises, still. For You are the Lord of Creation, The Alpha, Omega are You, And by Your great gift of Salvation, I have life everlasting with You. Your mercy is with me forever, Your goodness pours forth on my soul, From Your love, me, nothing can sever, For You’ve cleansed me, and You’ve made me whole. © 4/4/02
Lord, I don’t feel forgiven,
Lord, I don’t feel Your love,
How do I know my salvation?
How do I know that I’m free?
Though I know it is there ‘til the end.
I will stand on Your promises given,
I will know that Your Word, it is true,
That, my feelings can not steal away;
That no matter the things that I can’t see,
