Controlled By Love

CONTROLLED BY LOVE

When you wake and your heart is bursting,

With love for the Lord above;

You may know that your spirit is thirsting,

To be worn by Him as a glove.

For a glove is controlled by the hand within,

Though it looks just the same as before;

But like us, when we’re led by His Spirit within,

It can do so very much more.

But without the hand, the glove will just lay,

An empty and useless thing;

And without His Spirit, we will stay

Devoid of the power He’ll bring.

Do you know His Spirit deep inside?

Can you hear His voice so clear?

Do you know you are a part of His bride?

Is He to you the most dear?

There is joy untold in knowing our Lord

As your dearest and closest Friend;

There is peace that only He can afford,

When our will to His will, we’ll bend.

When we let the Lord control our life,

And give to Him our will;

We find that our mind has less turmoil and strife;

It is easier, just to: - "Be still".

To be still and hear what God has to say

About how and what we should do;

And our deepest desire will become to obey,

And to know that to Him we are true.
