The Prophet of God must stand;
Against the buffeting wave,
Must speak out the Words, though they hurt,
That allow God, man’s spirit to save.
The Prophet of God must kneel,
Humbly submitted to God;
Must learn to be led by God’s staff,
And attend His correctioning rod.
His face it must always be turned,
Toward his Father above;
He must willingly speak out the truth,
Though he always must speak it in love.
With his hands and his heart raised on high,
And his ear ever tuned to the Lord,
He must draw on His strength and His time,
And know whenhe must speak out the Word.
For not all the people will listen,
And not all the people will hear,
But when the Lord’s timing is right,
Those He seeks, will then gladly draw near.
So, prophet of God, stay in tune,
With the life that the Lord has for you,
Keep your hands and your heart ever pure,
And be ready for what you must do.
He will call you to open your mouth,
Speak His Words, by the means of your tongue,
And conviction will fall on the hearts,
Of the weak and the strong; old and young.
Prophet of God be bold,
Stand firm in the strength of your Lord,
Place your life in the palm of His hand,
And your feet on the path of His Word.
Let His love be light to your path,
And His truth be the lamp for your soul,
As you walk in the ways of your God,
You’ll see hearts, homes, and families made whole. Amen
