Because you cared too much, you could not stay,
Because you cared too much, you had to go away,
You could not stand the pain, of those you talked to there,
And, oh My child, I'm blessed, -- because you care.
I did not call you from the world to boast,
Nor make your own decision, - who is worth the most,
I only asked, that My love, you should share,
And this you do so well, -- because you care.
It tore the heart of God, to see the pain,
Of those who'd fall, and fall, and fall again,
So I have asked that My pain you would share,
And this you chose to do, -- because you care.
Though you may think you failed because you left,
May feel that of My comfort, you left souls bereft,
Of all the good you did, you'll never be aware,
You touched the heart of those who had a need, -- because you care.
And it is so where're you walk or go,
It is the love of God, with which you glow,
You light the way; show troubled souls Who will their burden bear,
You point their road to Me, -- because you care.
You served your time, -- did what I asked of you,
You paved the way for others, to do what they need do,
You did not stand on pride, afraid your limits to declare,
You turn to Me, and humbly ask for help, -- because you care.
Because you care, you're someone I can use,
Because you care, you'll walk the way I choose,
And at the wedding feast, you'll taste My dainty fare,
And see the lost you've found for Me, -- because you care.
